The first time we hear Sandra Correia, we feel "disturbed". We don't quite know what we are feeling, what is that power that drives us to tears, that touches us so deep. We only know that we want to feel it again. Her strong presence on stage turn her live performances into memorable events filled with strong feelings and emotions. With her unique and nostalgic bitter sweet voice, she gives meaning to each word she sings. She's an interpreter.

With a natural touch of class, Sandra is the perfect embodiment of Fado.

Daughter of a musician, Sandra Correia was born in Fornos, Santa Maria da Feira. She started to sing at an early age, when she was just a child, in local events. Sandra became a professional singer when she turned 16, and immediately made an impact , being constantly invited to perform in some of the most renowned venues in Portugal and abroad. Spain, France and England are some of the countries where Sandra tours more regularly.

AQUI EXISTO is Sandra Correia's third album.
It is an album of originals, from one of today's most elegant and intense fadistas.   In Sandra Correia everything is true.
From the intention that she gives to the word of a popular poet
to the most sophisticated understanding of an existentialist stanza.
She is Fado. Sandra makes us shiver, makes us cry, makes us smile,
makes us feel restless, uncomfortable.
She makes us want more.
She and Fado are not two separate entities.
She and Fado are univocal. Fado exists in every word that Sandra sings. Vocal extension and interpretive expression, elegance, class, reflect a superior, mature, serene and tranquil artist.
This is certainly an album by a major artist in the Portuguese music scene.
An intense and powerful album, capable of bringing all the emotions to the surface of the listeners.

“Perspectiva” is the title of Sandra Correia's first original album.
José Guimarães and Fernando Campos de Castro, two brilliant
poets from the North, are the most sung on the album,
but we also find poems by wonderful poets like Florbela Espanca,
António Lobo Antunes and Vasco de Graça Moura.
Sandra has a kind of agri-sweet voice, where each melisma fits
perfectly into each sung word, translating the poet's intentions.
Melismatic serves the word, respects the composer's wish,
but the voice follows its own path. We are facing an interpreter!
A fado singer full of resources and with a particular talent,
of what Marceneiro called "stylizing".
Listening to her in a Fado Cravo, or in the matrix of Fado himself,
the Fado Menor, is an unequivocal confirmation:
Sandra Correia is not just another fado singer, but someone
to whom Fado clung to ensure its continuity while "style".   With a natural touch of great class, Sandra is the perfect embodiment of Fado.
